  Letter about changes in book 100 year kingdom

  yesterday a letter was read in our congregation.

  it said that there have been doctrinal changes in many chapters of the book 'god's kingdom rules' so everyone but especially the conductor must be sure to use the latest update of the book.. this book is only ...how old?

  @darkspilver... did I say something wrong? I just told here what was read in the kingdom hall. Because I think it's ridiculous that the books need updating so often and soon now and I thought it was 'news' that there was an official letter about it. Did not make any assumption about how and what the changes were... maybe YOU expected it to be more.

  And for the other thread I started: i thought it was ridiculous that JW don't blink an eye about lots of things, (like children's abuse) but when the Calendar is not to be continued they're in shock. Stupid.

  Really I don't see any 'smoking guns'

  Dutch assembly hall dedicated today...

  asked my inwife if the new hall is nice (i know it's not).

  Yes, I saw the streaming on Sunday. I thought David Splanes talk was not that bad indeed. I especially liked the quote he made (someone said that to him) : "The truth is the truth, no matter who tells it." Yes sir. Even if so-called apostates tell the truth, it is still truth, right?!

  The hall itself was not really shown in the streaming. Not much to see there, I guess.

  It's very simple. They said that's the new style for all Assemblyhalls to be built, and it is because the money is gone can go to countries where there's greater need of kingdom halls.... right.

  There are wooden chairs , more like benches (5 seats on one set of legs (?) don't know how to say this in English) - and also for the special assembly days NO opportunity to bring your own chair! For the regional conventions you CAN bring your own chair, but there is not a lot of space for them, and there will be NO 'chair' cards given in advance any more, so I suppose if you need a special chair, you have to fight for a spot.

  I always need a special chair, so I think that means no more assembly days for me then.

  That's the actual JW nameplates. And bro. tulips is really a brother and not an outsider/visitor.

  I was on another convention and saw a LOT of tight pants! And that's the most 'old-fashioned' convention in The Netherlands, the northern regio. So Utrecht convention must have been 'worse'.

  today at the utrecht international convention in holland there was no "word in spanish" about dissassociation.. "we avoid any contact with dissassociated witnesses.

  not only sinners, but in a broader perspective, also inactive witnesses".. there was a lot of noise in the hall direct after that moment.. so, no fading escape in the near future, i expect.. g..

  Also I noticed in the video that in the Dutch translation (voice over) they used the word 'Disfellowshipped' in the announcement. I thought the announcement always is: so and so is no longer one of JW.

  But they said: 'Sonya Ericsson is disfellowshipped'.

  In Zwolle it was said slightly different but even more harsh (I knew what to expect and it was worse than I expected.) 'What if someone is not df'd because sometimes that happens, when a person is or becomes inactive, they have not been disciplined.... '? No contact.

  There was not really a reaction.

  Also 'loyalty to god above family' was emphasised very much. They said it about five or six times . And 'one word' to someone df'd could mess up the usefulness of 'shunning' so really, do not say one word to these people.

  Letter To My Mother

  seeing as im being shunned by my family and friends.

  i've decided to turn the tables and shun them back - but using the same methodology and reasoning they use on me.

  i've written the following letter:.

  I expected something totally different when I read 'shun back'...I thought it would be something like this:

  Dear mother,

  because the bible tells us 'To quit being in company with anyone called a brother that is... A greedy person or an idolater or... Etc.etc.' I can't be in company of anyone related to WT society anymore.

  (and then telling every detail of the wrongdoings of WT society...) and ending with something: so you see, If I want to serve Jehovah/be a christian with a clear conscience, I have to shun you and everyone else that is JW. And I cannot let my daughter see you, because she might be affected too by everything going on in JW land.

  Of course I will always love you. So whenever you are ready to see the truth and come back to Jehovah instead of following people, you are welcome."

  But your letter is very clear and humble.
